What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

You're gonna get there brother. Then you can teach me because I am nowhere near a flintlock expert.

Can you guys school me on grades of Hawkens? Quality, value, etc.

I'm going to shops in southern Tennessee down to south Alabama and find great deals in this area. One thing I've noticed is if young guys are running the shop and it is chock full of Glocks and AR type rifles BP guns are usually cheap. At least in my area.

Minuteman Concord "Shots Heard Round The World"

I can't even find flints in my bag so it would be interesting to know how they were discovered.

MUST HAVE features on a possibles bag?

I really like plain and simple. When I make myself a new bag it must have one inside pocket stitched to the back inside panel. A place on one side of the strap for a homemade ball starter, and a sheath made on the other side of the strap holding a small patch/squirrel knife. You never know when...

Can you guys school me on grades of Hawkens? Quality, value, etc.

Good luck with your quest. Let us know what you come up with. Another benefit about buying guns like this is you get lots of tinkering opportunity. Right now I've got a 14 inch Traditions Deerhunter that is fixing to be an eleven inch Deerhunter. Shoots great at 14 but I want it shorter. Got...

Can you guys school me on grades of Hawkens? Quality, value, etc.

If you already have BP experience, and are wanting to dabble with half stock cap guns, try this: I go to pawn shops and small gun shops pretty frequently to see what they have. To date, I've bought many muzzleloaders in these ships for $125 or less. That includes two New Englanders and a...

    Quick and Dirty Shrimp Soup

Yep. Plus a little salt and black pepper. Sometimes I mix some Cajun seasoning in too. After a big bowl of this stuff ya know you ate something. Also don't be afraid to throw in a little smoked sausage. Goes great with shrimp in a dish like this.

    Traditions Blunderbuss kit

Cool. Been wanting one of those. Another forum member posted pics of one last year. He had unscrewed the funnel and had a machine shop make a threaded cap to go on the end. I think he also put a bead sight in it. That's my plan if I ever get one. Let us know how it shoots.

    Green River knives

I have a couple and they've been really good. Well worth the price. I'm gonna check out that guy Rusty mentioned. Always nice to find a good knife at a reasonable price.

    Poor man’s guns

Well I appreciate your tips and advice. And I know you know alot more than I do about barrels and such. So I'm unqualified to correct you. So in the mean time I'm still saving my pennies for a Rosie. At the rate I'm going I'll probably be placing the order in about December 2054. 😁

    SQUIRREL HUNTING RIG

There is enough meat to do that. Problem is finding a used one. Last time I looked recently there were two used ones on GunBroker and they were asking $495 each. I'm sure they are still on there. I can't imagine why they'd ask that much when a new one is just a few bucks more. Before the...
