    Holy Grail Flintlock Pistols

Those are absolutely awesome! So unique and gorgeous. I was too slow on the button for one of his pistols on Track of the Wolf once. I wish I had hit the button and worried about gas and rent later.

    Front Sight Help

I am not sure if this could be made to work on one of these long rifles, but it is pretty common with the guys I shoot Sharps rifle unmentionables with to take a penny, cut it, and install it as a front sight. An Indian head penny. It is well known in those Sharps circles that a penny sight like...

    Long range shooting

This was a really cool read. Amazing that it was done with an original. Thanks!

    Buckshot in pistols?

My experimentation with buckshot out of my fowler has been pretty underwhelming. However, at pistol range, I would think a little buck or bird shot would certainly be pretty nasty combined with the ball. Especially if you are like 5 feet away. If anything it makes sure that red coat pauses with...

    What are your excuses please.

This day in age its all about mental health. I am mentally healthy when I pour powder down a tube and shoot it out.

    Hornet Nest Wadding

I use any kind of bee or wasp nest interchangeably. It works great and was my favorite until I figured out my shot card combo. I generally just keep my eye out during winter and knock down whatever I find. Ive never found anything live inside but I also only do it in New England or PA during...

    Some questions about flintlocks

“Too long” is all personal preference but I will give you my experience. I was wary about long barrels when having my fowler made but I could not be happier that I chose 44 inches rather than shorter. I am 5’7 and dont even notice the length. So in the end I would just go with what you like...

    Hard to load overshot cards!

As its been said slice a little notch in them. That does the trick! I will even stack six or so at a time and slice them to speed it up. It doesnt take a big slice to do the trick. Good luck

    2nd Generation Colt revolvers

Would the bottom of the frame have been silver like this as well? So this is all around a gun that could have fit in the 1850s more or less? Thanks!

    2nd Generation Colt revolvers

That answers my question! I had no idea. Thank you very much. Its a different ball game now that I know they are correct haha.

    Long range shooting

I know they relied on these rifles for their living and life, but I fail to believe these guys could truly dedicate the time to load development that we do. We mess around with different powders and all crazy manner of loading techniques. I am not saying they didnt put time into it and achieve...

    Brown Bess name origin?

Very interesting. It is funny how much slang for a “plain” or “promiscuous” woman filters down throughout history, and the different things that these slang terms are applied to.

    CLOSED Left Hand Flintlock

If you are really set on a lefty then there is another forum called ALR (American Longrifle Forum) that many of us here are also members of. If you want, I am sure one of us, myself included, would put an ad out on there to increase the “traffic” for your search. Only if you want of course.

    CLOSED Left Hand Flintlock

I am sorry if you already know this but I am a lefty shooter and I would like to point out that in NO WAY does a righty gun affect a lefty shooter. My first flintlock was lefty, now all three of the guns I own are righty. Just a tip in case you see a righty rifle you think he would like. I dont...

I wait until they take them off to sneak up. It is way better than using a flashlight at night…I kid 😂

    t.o.t.w. mink oil

I like it but I have only been using it for a couple of months. It is slick as eel s**t. It worked real well the other day in some 33 degree weather. Haven't tried it out in the heat yet. I just drag my patch across it making sure its enough pressure to pickup some of the lube without completely...
