I was shooting a 50 cal Kentucky long rifle with 80 grains of FFG and round balls. After around ball 20 I could not find a spot on my shoulder that did not hurt. It actually beat my shoulder black and blue.

I am not suggesting them, but they might tip the scales at maybe 400 grains for a 50 cal ball. Just wondering

One question, as I await my first flint. That flint didn’t seem to spark much at all, it seemed to light the pan after it stopped its fall. Is that common?

Steel, one thought, I might of added highlights as well. That would aid the tiger stripe effect to “pop” a little more

I haven’t tried it yet, still waiting for the bruising to clear up. It feels good in place, and it might ease that bracing I do for the kick that ain’t helping my groups

I’m jealous too. I went to an indoor range here in Florida, showed them what I wanted to shoot and got laughed right out the way I came in. Ah, to have your own range. Welcome from FLA
