Great! I was going to ask about some GOEX podwer marked july/83 on the can. I have another can that just has a code on it. Both sealed tight and stored inside. Sound like it's still good. Thanks,....loojack :)
Octagon to round smooth barrel, plain maple full stock, plain iron furniture....Kentucky Barn Gun! IMHO, :m2c:the beauty of an object is in it's function! After 15 to 20 years I'm planning to try to build another gun, wish me luck!....loojack
I found a sharpening system like this a www.rockler.com about $20 comes with a 12X12 1/4 glass plate, honing guide and assorted sticky backed sandpaper......loojack
This looks interesting! The hardest part of building or repairing a gun is keeping your tools sharp! Probably the biggest reason people get frustraited(sp?) and quit...loojack
I did it at the rifle range, couldn't find my ball puller. Had to go into the gun shop and buy a new ramrod, they didn't have a screw to fit my wiper stick!!!Live and lean, but HAVE FUN!!!!....loojack
Thanks for all the input! Lots of great stuff out there! About the time I think I've made up my mind, I find something else that catches my eye!!!
Just sorry I can't afford them all.....maybe if the wife lets me empty our 410k account......hmmmmmmmm. Thanks again!......loojack
I was searching the web for info on Schimmel rifles and came across Cabin Creeks website, anyone built one of their Pennsylvania Mountain rifles? They look good and the price is about right. Any thoughts?
Also, are there any sites that may be helpful on researching Schimmels? Thanks loojack
WOW! I found his website while searching for Schimmels, used plain longrifle. His guns look good! and priced right, $650 for his smoothbore Carolina poorboy. I was thinking about calling him. Might do some more looking now....loojack
