    Recoil

I think you meant upper arm! between the Bicep and where it joins the shoulder, in that "hollow" is where you want to put one of those curved steel buttplates.

    In the white

I have a .50 cal. that I left the barrel in the white, it really doesn't take that long to get a nice patina, I rubbed mine down with oil and a bit of fouling from the barrel after shooting at the range. It maybe took 3 years or so to get a nice dark grey patina.

    Straightrazors

I picked up a nice H.C. Wentworth&Sons Straight Razor today at a gun show ($40.00), has a nice sharp edge on it, He had a Robinson Shuredge, but wanted $200.00 bucks for it. My Question is how good is it?. So far what I've read indicates its a good razor (The H..C Wentworth that is.

Its gonna get COLD down here Sunday or Monday night!! Might even get down to Freezing Temps! :surrender:  I'll probably be picking a couple or 3 heads of Broccoli next week, and I will have to put a "Frost Blanket" over my crooked necked squash I have growing. They have 3 or 4 blooms on them.

    Becoming Lactose Intolerant?

I would starve to death if I didn't have my 6 slices of bacon, 2 scrambled eggs and a tall glass of Olavltine every morning. That's winter food, summer food is cereal and milk (about 4 bowls). Btw, you have to put in about 4 heaping scoops of Ovaltine to make it taste good.

What length barrel do you prefer?

I believe it also depends on how big you are, long and tall with long arms? or short statued with short arms, also how is the back doing? To me all these things come into play, what is your best LOP?. This will determine what kind of balance you will have with a long barrel. I have a 12 1/2 LOP...

    Powder strength?

I think I would be installing a ventliner myself, it would probably help with velocity and penetration.

some questions for the .62 colerain shooters

I would have gotten a smooth bore myself if I went to that caliber (20 gauge). That way I could shoot shot (squirrels and rabbits) and use a ball for deer or hogs. A 120 grns. would put me on the ground looking for where my shoulder went to! :surrender: . :2

    First smoke pole success

I wish it was all that simple, good shooting sir! that will be some tender eating, Venison stew with taters, carrots, and some onions with a nice gravy to sop up with bread or some cat head biscuits! yum, yum!.
