Wild Inaccuracy with Pedersoli P53 Enfield.

CCI caps are fine, I like RWS caps better, but the caps are not the source of wild shooting. You can check the barrel diameter by screwing a ball pulling screw into a minie ball, flaring the skirt, and tapping it into the muzzle. When you pull it out, check the land and groove diameters with a...

Gas Cutting the Arbor of the 1860 Army

Depends on the filler metal and procedure, TIG welding has a small heat effected zone, but any hardness difference wouldn't make a functional difference.

Gas Cutting the Arbor of the 1860 Army

Wow, I thought I shot my C&B revolvers a lot. Might be time for a new gun. But, TIG welding would work to fill the canyon. He might want to check his barrel cylinder gap.

Wild Inaccuracy with Pedersoli P53 Enfield.

Casting With Bottom Pour or Ladle?

Like any liquid with surface tension, molten lead wants to be round. If the mold is up to temperature, just about any technique works. For minies, a ladle is necessary, for me at least.

    44 cal v 45 call size

The .451 balls are used in "44" caliber cap and ball revolvers and the . 440 balls are used in 45 caliber rifles. The revolvers don't use a patch, in fact the balls need to be a little larger than the chamber throats. The rifle balls are smaller to accommodate for the patch.
