    friendship in june

Guys, I admit to having only been to F'ship once. However, it was a great trip and I am 10 hours from Madison, IN and another 30-40 minutes from Friendship. It was worth every minute of the trip just to have a full day with the vendors and a little time watching a rifle being built. Matter...

    T/C Service Again

Well guys, The lock on my Renegade went down on m after 30 yrs of service or so. So I boxed it up, UPS'd it to them with a note, and 9 days later I have a brand new lock. That is excellent service in my book. Good Luck, Make Smoke, David B

Please explain the differences in lock's

OK, so now I kinda understand. If I were to buy a new lock that was a Siler, or a fairly new rifle with a Siler Lock, it would be a chambers lock, correct? Also, is tuning the lock that important? Best, David B

Please explain the differences in lock's

Gents, I am in the process of figuring out what I want for my first flinter. I have been around them just enuff to be curious about the different locks and mfg's. I hear lots about Jim Chambers locks. So I went to his website, and he sells Siler locks. Well dadgummit, now I am really...

    Renegade Transformed

El Lobo, I stripped with steel wool and Formby's Furniture Refinisher. Then I steamed out a few dents and rubbed with Tru Oil by Birchwood Casey. I let it dry til almost hard, then I rub with steel wool soaked in tru oil again, hang to dry, and when very close to completely dry, same process...

    Renegade Transformed

Jaeger, I will take closer photo's of the sling mounts and post them. The front is in a thimble, and the rear is moved closer to the hand guard and is in the stock similar to factory placement. I had to move everything foward because of the increased barrel length. Greywhiskers, Thanks, I...

    Renegade Transformed

Thanks for the reply Idaho, No offense, but the front sight is on exactly as I intended it to be. I can see the aperture falling out in the dirt with the rifle standing in the rack if it was installed the opposite way. Best, David B

    Renegade Transformed

I must say I apologize. I just saw a post on this forum that asked to not post pics of themes or such that was not period correct for this forum. It gave a cut off date of 1865. I am quite sure that my Renegade with sights is not period correct for that time period. I am also quite sure that...

    Renegade Transformed

Here is my Renegade after GM 1-70" tw barrel, Lyman 57SML sight, and spirit level front sight installed. Also, look at the wood I found under the orange shellac that was on the rifle, pretty nice for a $150 frontstuffer that has been in the woods for over 30 yrs I think. Best David B

First Day with Old/New ML & barrel

This is my first post and I am glad to be here! I have an old TC Renegade that was a .54 1-48 twist that would not shoot for me no matter what I tried. After owning this rifle for many years I got the opportunity to start shooting ML matches so instead of looking for a new Ml I ordered a 32"...
