    3F in 50 Cal.

I usually loaded 80 grains of 2F. I went to 75 grains of 3F last weekend. I couldn't believe the increase in accuracy I was getting. Maybe just a few lucky shots, i don't know. This was in a TC hawken 1:66 with prb. Anyone else have similar experiences. I don't dare try it again for fear...

    Thompson Center same old story

Same experience here. I did send along an email. My next new gun purchase will be TC. Service, quality, made in NH. Now if I can just pick one out. I've got a TC slow twist barrel that shoots so well I think I need another (beater) to hunt with.

    Barrel Mounted Ghost Ring Sight

Hi all, Got a sight question: I have a nice barrel mounted peep sight that will accept Williams apeture inserts. I want to use this for some target work and will probably remove the insert for hunting. Normally of course the peep is located close to the eye, the thought being to allow more...

    Barrel re-boring

Thanks for the comments. No, I was just thinking of reviving an older TC with a conical barrel that had I believe to be a fairly fast twist to a slower twist for prb. The Green Mtn replacement barrels are $230+.

    Packs/Bags

While hunting, what works best for you? Do you strictly use a possibles bag, or do some use a more modern waist/belt pack? If you use a possibles bag, what separates a good one from the others. Thanks.

    Barrel re-boring

Hi, I'm enjoying getting ready for this season. Need to do some more scouting too. Came up with a couple questions though. Is it possible to take a 50 cal TC Hawken barrel and have it re-bored to 54 cal? How about 45 re-bored to 50? Reason would be to get a slower twist. Maybe...

    Sights suggestions

Thanks for all the great advice. How about this one? Mounts on the barrel, and Brownells sells a tall version of the apeture which should help with the limited drop on a hawken. http://www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_129_651_654&products_id=7498

    Sights suggestions

Rifle is a hawken and hunting shots will be well within 80 yds. The thing is my eyes are not what they used to be and am looking for something more precise than this sight: http://www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_129_651_652&products_id=7496 Only other thing is I don't want to...

    Sights suggestions

Hi, Please comment on and suggest a good sight combination? I have been using fixed buckhorn rear and a blade front sight, but am thinking of a peep/apeture with globe front, but not sure. Any suggestions for hunting and target use? Thanks again.

    Whole lotta questions....

Hello folks, I'm new to this board and the BP scene, but just recently purchased a tc hawken. I have to say this is a hoot and I haven't had this much fun shooting in years. Right now I'm a little confused with the myriad lubes and solvents types and uses. I'm a simple guy and complicating...
