    Somewhat satisfied with Lyman

What is pre 'A'? My Trade serial starts with an A and my GPR doesn't. The Trade was a kit so I just thought the A designated that. Ryan

    T/c Hawken Hammer Throw?

I don't have but two T/C's and the Hawken I can't cap at half but the White Mountain Carbine I can. Maybe it's because one is a set trigger and the other isn't. I don't know I just deal with it. Ryan

    Uberti vs. Pietta?

Uberti used to make a navy 51 in 44 marketed by Navy Arms as an 1862 Conf. army model. Ryan

    T/c Hawken Hammer Throw?

I think he's looking for the distance from the face of the hammer to the nipple seat at full cock.Somebody messed with mine and its short, half cock barely clears the nipple. Ryan

    barrel question

Well, I counted the lands but there should be a corresponding count of grooves. They are deep, not like Marlin micro-groove. The barrel is new without breach plug but is threaded. The front sight dovetail and two threaded holes for rear sight are there but nothing for rail or wedge. It's in the...

    barrel question

I just picked up a 50 cal 1/48 28" barrel that isn't marked and never fired. My question is what is a 12 land barrel used on and for? Ryan

    cabela's traditional hawken percussion rifle

Ginoe, Do not force it the threads are wrong. Stop off at a parts house or hardware store and find a nut that threads on and you'll know what you have. Ryan .75 is the pitch not diameter

    cabela's traditional hawken percussion rifle

Hi Bear,I've been using the search feature a bunch and it has to be the Thompson. I'm a lefty shooting righty rifles and the Lyman will be in the way when cocking. On a side note some time ago somebody told you about a supplier that sells the Thompson for less than Midway, do you remember who...

    cabela's traditional hawken percussion rifle

Bear, How does the sight adjust? The reason I've wanted the 57 was the click adjust. I have a Williams on my Hawken and its the loosen the set screw and tap it back and forth type, not very precise. Ryan

Cabelas hawken v lyman trade rifle

Problem solved I think. Track of the wolf lists a 15/16" 54 caliber barrel to fit my TC Hawken. Its a 32" ball barrel so I'll be close to the GPR I can't afford and I don't have to buy another peep sight. Monday I'll call and see how long the wait is as there's none in stock. Thanks for the...

    cabela's traditional hawken percussion rifle

I'm wondering about the peep sight too. If the Lyman 57 will fit these I'm buying the same rifle. Ryan

Cabelas hawken v lyman trade rifle

Thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking a few months. Does anybody know if the Lyman 57 for the trade rifle will fit the Cabelas Hawken. Thanks, Ryan

Cabelas hawken v lyman trade rifle

I've got a chance at either one in .54 caliber. I like the set trigger on the hawken but do they shoot as good as the trade rifle. I realize Invest Arms builds them both. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ryan

I checked mine also and sure enough they swap.I was going to trade the White Mountain in on a Trade Rifle but I think I'll keep it and pay the difference. Thanks, Ryan
