    Harmonica Gun in a movie

The name of the movie was "Adios, Sabata!", a spaghetti western. Yul was packing a cut-down lever-action long gun(sort of like the one Steve McQueen used in "Wanted: Dead or Alive"), and for rapid fire he used the harmonica-type magazine. First thing he did, though, was pull a short cigarro...

Quite possibly the worst movie of all time

You're right about that one. Kurt Russell was in it, playing a guy who'd been living with the NDNs for several years, then comes "home" to find out his sister was carried off. Show didn't last long.

Maybe you can help with ..

Strange thing is, my local library has a copy of the silent LOTM! I'm gonna have to rent it one of these days.

    Laws on Buying Lead Balls?

They've already effectively done it in NJ. Of course, there's still either going to PA, or ordering it through the mail. I hate waiting, though. Only costs a half tank of gas(round trip to Dixon's) and 75 cents for the toll. Beats paying the hazmat fee for 1 lb of powder.

    Hatchet Jack's will

The fixin's might not've been on Jack's body. He might've left his ball mold n' such back at his camp. Just nit-pickin', o'course.

    Hatchet Jack's will

Yeah. I always wondered if he got the rb's to go with the gun since, if I recollect right, the gun he bought was a small caliber.

    Movie Arrived!!

Funny thing about "The Big Sky": it's one of the few movies I've seen that(IMO) were better than the book.

Our visit to Jacobsburg Pa Henry Rifle Home

Wife and I were there last Sunday, after the rain. Set up a small camp, just for the day. Had fun, even though I didn't get to shoot. Range was closed down just as we pulled in. So far, I'm 0 for 2 shooting at Jacobsburg; combination of bad weather and lousy timing. Photos as soon as I can...

    Movie Arrived!!

Sorry, the Warner cartoon was about the John Alden/Priscilla Mullens/Miles Standish love triangle, not "Drums". The female lead was an imitation of Edna May, though.

    TC Firestorm Flintlocks

I believe I've said this elsewhere. I'm one of those poor souls living in NJ, where no one, AFAIK, sells bp. To get a pound of powder I have to travel into PA(Dixon's is closest to me, about 1 hour 45 minutes drive). I've asked a few times at the club I intend to join(GSBPA) as soon as I can...

Definitely NOT the ones I was thinking of!

What the.....Where am I? Civil War?..

The only Civil War cards I can remember(going back to the early -to-mid '60's) is a bunch that seemed to always be showing guys getting killed in various unpleasent ways, frequently by being impaled on bayonets and the like. Really nice stuff to be selling to schoolkids! :shocked2:

    Laws on Buying Lead Balls?

NJ is another state run by urban liberal idiots. Firearms owner's ID required to be shown before the clerk will even show you a firearm. To buy one, you need a separate permit. Airsoft guns, by the way, are classified as firearms. So, I think, are paintball guns. You need the ID to...

    Dyeing Wool,,setting color

Ms Kat here: I would also check out Dharma Trading Company (don't know url). They sell dyeing equipment, dye powder, all sorts of dyeing stuff, and a lot of un-dyed material. Look for Cushing Dye or Wash Fast Acid Dye. Dharma also has instructions on how to use the dyes and even answers...

    Aboveground firepits

Has anyone got information/photos on above ground firepits(NOT braziers)for cooking? I'm trying to set up a camp, and am concerned about times when no ground fires or dug-in firepits are allowed. I would prefer that it not be hanging from a tripod.

    I'll give 'er a try.

    Short Starter.......

I dunno. I tend to look at other shooter's rigs, see something that I think looks good, then try to figure out how I can make one. I also started out with a ball-handled starter. Found out, when I decided to mount it on my bag strap(one less thing taking up space in the bag) that the ball...

How tough are the mountain men?

Sorry; Freddie is the urbanized dream monster. The woodland monster you want is Jason, from the "Friday the 13th" series. :hmm:
