    Patina for German Silver.

If there is any silver in it, you can use Liver of Sulfur. It stinks like hell. Another method you can try is the yolk from hard boiled eggs. Shield the metal from the yolk with a paper towel and seal it in a ziploc baggies for a few days. It's worth a shot. It works on silver and sterling.

    Shot pouch and Pick

Thank you! :-) I flared the inside of the antler "neck" to widen it. So far I have not had a problem using it. About like trying to drink from a bota. I'm in awe of the hard leather ones. Once I get a few more projects finished I will have to try one.

    Shot pouch and Pick

A small leather shot pouch with an antler spout, plug with integral shot measure and an antler nipple pick. The leather wrap was copied from a weave found on an old wine cask. The items were made from spare parts around the house. :) The powder measure holds 80 gr. of shot.

    First powder horn completed

Am not sure why the "X is popping up. :( My tools were simple. Xacto knife, a few files and a couple of leather working tools. Should I attempt to link the photo again or is there an alternative way of posting photos?

    First powder horn completed

My rendering of a 1700's powder horn (slightly modernized). Steer horn, a chunk of horse lead, some leather scraps and a German silver "star". The star was inlaid (sp?) into the butt cap. The horn was etched using a #16 bladed Xacto knife. The etching is a freehand sketch based on a 1754 map of...
