Here's my first efforts at repairing a bug eaten old horn that had a number of small and large holes as well as a busted base and missing staple. After the repairs I thought I'd try my hand at scrimshaw or engraving if you prefer. Crafted the strap also out of recycled linen and leather.

Here are some holes I patched. The one at the neck was mighty big and put this old horn out of commission. The others were up to 3/16ths or so diameter. It came with a chalk line (blue chalk) strap which was wrapped around the neck damaged hole. I used horn dust mixed with epoxy to fill the holes and scraped and sanded them down. I had to cut a half inch off the base and re-do the base plug.

My grand dad is William J. Price. William M. Price is my dad. My brother Bill is WM the second and he named a son WM the third. So the name fits the family. I don't know if anyone is proud of me or not. My ancestry includes many decorated military vets of which I am not. Got an uncle underground in Hawaii's Punchbowl Cemetery and other WWII vets, SpanAm war vets, WWI, North and South war, 1812, 1770's war etc. So I'm more proud of them.
but thank you.
