    2F powder in Uberti Dragoon

Thanks to everyone for your useful replies. I decided to ere on the side of caution and loaded up two cylinders of 17 grs T7 2F with .454 ball. The gun was a brass frame Pietta .44 marketed as a "Confederate" 1851. Essentially the gun shot to the same point of aim as the regular T7 3F load...

    2F powder in Uberti Dragoon

I normally shoot 40 grs. of 3F with a .457 ball in my Dragoon. I have a fair quantity of Graf 2F that I bought about five years ago. My question is: Has anyone used 2F in a Dragoon or an 1860?

    Gunsmith Feedback

Thanks to everyone that provided feedback. After reading replies, I think a better way would be to simply inquire if forum members have had any experience (good or bad) with a particular vendor or service provider. That is exactly what I am now doing: Has anyone had any past dealings with...

    Gunsmith Feedback

I am not sure if this the proper place to post this. Has anyone had any dealings with Thomas Raether at "blackpowderstuff"? It would seem that we need a category to give feedback to our members on gunsmiths and other service providers in this field. It seems that there is a marked tendency...

Someone makes a replacement lock/trigger for a Lyman GPR that is supposed to be an improvement over the factory trigger. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Walker lever remedy

When I first got my Walker, I would use a rubber band to prevent the lever from dropping. Didn't really like how it looked. My wife found me these: http://www.sallybeauty.com/ponytail-holders/SBS-424102,default,pd.htmlse: They are black and flat so they don't interfere with the sights. I...

    Pietta 1860 army reliability problems

Had the same problem with any number of Ubertis and Piettas. Did the file thing. It worked OK. Remington 10's do work on just about all models without filing. They are hard to find. Maybe someone knows an internet source? If there is a black powder club near you....join. Many clubs buy...

    Rogers and Spencer parts source

I received a Rogers and Spencer from DGW late Friday. Gun is very accurate. Just thinking ahead to a source of parts. DGW has a few but nothing like VTI carries for the other Italian imports. Anyone ordered any from Euroarms? It would be the logical choice but you never know.

1841 Mississippi in .58 caliber (need info)

Leatherbark: I have an unfired 1841 in 58 cal in the safe. Would be interested in what load it shoots once you work it up. Also think there is something to be done with the sights. Believe they shoot high? Jim

    New LePage

I am using a .433 Hornady ball, .10 patch and 15 grains of T777 or Swiss 3F. Both shoot way beyond my ability. About 3in two hand hold at 25 yds. Only had the pistol a few weeks and have not benched it as the off hand groups were so good (for me). May put it on the sandbag rest this week just...
