fixing loose barrel pin
Would it be possible to put a slight bend in the pin? Causing some misalignment but friction to keep it in place. Or a drop of BLO to act as " temporary glue"- mah7039

Trigger and guard placement
Here's my 2cents, cut off the extra on both ends of the trigger plate. I'd cut off the front lug on the TG and move it, silver solder it back on. A screw too far from there could run into the ramrod. Happy building!- mah7039

I was asked in a PM what the finish was. My previous builds were all BLO and I wanted to try something new on this one. I used the two part Permalyn finish, 2 coats of the sealer and 2 of the finish. Came out a little bit shiny so rubbed it down with 0000 steel wool and I like it.- mah7039

The lid is one piece of wood. Came off of the stock below the wrist area , I was pleased with how the stripes lined up. You know, hope for the best and sometimes you get lucky.- mah7039

Flint Knapping Frequency
Does anyone else have issues with his process? Our club rules do not allow blowing down the barrel and I'm not sure what the benefit is. Is it suppose to clear the touch hole?.. Personally, if I pick the touch hole, it's after I load and right before I prime. I usually don't pick unless I have...- mah7039

Just got home from Friendship, took the lock over to the L&R booth, told them (Tim) about my problems and he put on a new frizzen spring. He also gave me a few tips on flint size and position to strike the frizzen. They were very helpful and the lock is performing very well now, flints are... -
