I have built several NW style tradeguns. I too have pinned the trigger high in the stock to get the maximum amount of leverage. This is the key. It took some getting used to when I began shooting it. If you are using the TOTW kit it uses the Pete Allen designed and RE Davis built trade gun lock...- BillyB
