I recently tried to mix some Black Walnut file dust with Gorilla glue to fill voids but it was still "rubbery" when dry. Is there another mixture I should use?? Thanks in advance.....................Chawbeef

    Thinking about buying this Flinter

Mcat, I built the same Lancaster kit. I got one of the last 3 kits John had before he moved out of his house. The lock I got is engraved but does not have his name on it. I'm not totally happy with all of the lock parts. For instance, the tumbler "axle" is out of round and of concern to me. I am...

    New life for Mora blade

My Daddy bought gave me a Swedish Mora back in the early 60's, the one with the laminated blade. Great knife and I thought I would fashion a new handle for it with some Birds eye Maple I had lying around. I had enough to re handle an old Chinese cleaver as...

    Engraved Name on Barrel

I have used letter punches on the bottom of my barrels, unseen beneath the stock but also took one of my barrels (octagon) to a trophy engraving shop that did a great job engraving my name on top of the barrel.............................Daniel

    What did you do today

Windy, cold and snowy today, so I fixed a leak in my basement shower, helped with laundry and built a pizza from scratch for supper. Have a 750 piece jigsaw puzzle on the go as well. LOL

    USA kits to Canada

I hope this is okay to post in this section. I would like to hear from any Canadian builders who have purchased a kit from the good ol' US of A recently. I am wondering if there have been any issues at the border or if any additional monies had to be paid as in duties?? Thank...

    Lock I.D.

Thanks Phil. Looks like the main spring is held in place with a screw which looks like the head is broke off. No mounting holes in the bolster or front of lock plate so I think it was never used............Daniel

    Lock I.D.

I have to tune it first, the sear nose catches the half cock notch at the moment. I also think that the tumbler may be soft...........................Daniel
