nice looking rifle .... you could spend your money on less useful stuff .... rent, groceries, car insurance, the kids' tuition ... that sort of junk
Does the frizzen pivot on a bridle arrangement or pin/screw ?Thinking about picking up this lefthand 50cal plains style flinter what do you thinkView attachment 226396
Mcat, I built the same Lancaster kit. I got one of the last 3 kits John had before he moved out of his house. The lock I got is engraved but does not have his name on it. I'm not totally happy with all of the lock parts. For instance, the tumbler "axle" is out of round and of concern to me. I am thinking of replacing the Clark lock with the L&R Durs Egg. ............................DanielJohn Clark lived north of Toronto and died a couple of years ago. I bought the lock from him before he passed and haven’t used it. Gathering dust in my room sadly. I do have a 54 cal Lancaster rifle from one of Clark’s kits with the same lock that was largely assembled by a friend and finished by me. The swamped barrel balances beautifully and is bright. Haven’t shot it nearly enough.
