I inlet my lock too deep... now what?

I was thinking the same thing as Flinch, regarding sanding the bolster. However, the screw and epoxy idea is a good one also. Good luck.

    Roundball diameter for .36 Hatfield

Hey 2571, I've got a Hatfield in .36cal. I shoot .350rb and a .15p/t patch. About 35gr Goex 3f. Shoots great. Only change I made was in the flint. I changed to a T/C flint. Lots more spark. Good luck.

    Patch lubes

Castor oil. I'm guessing thats what was used by most of the old-timers. After all, it's derived from the beaver and readily available if you were a successful trapper right?

    WD/40

Ok, the horse is dead, now lets all grab a stick and beat it. "just a pun". I've heard lots of folks bad experiences with WD/40 in firearms maintanance. I personally DO NOT use WD/40 as a protectant or lubricant, as I believe it is neither of these. I do however use it as an AID to cleaning. If...

Wow, what an array of recipe's regarding patch lube. I've used T/C's prelubed patch's exclusively, mainly because I didn't know any better. cleaning regiment

Glad I'm not the only one to experience this. I first flush may barrel with wicked hot water and Dawn dish soap. Once "clean" I flush it with cold water to cool the barrel. Then I scrub it down with WD40. Wipe that "clean". Then a dab of barricade. Works for me.

    Longrifle Rebuild

Hey ihuntsnook, I rebuilt an old Italian FIE. The only ticky part to reinstalling the breechplug was filing the breech of the barrel and the end of the plug. Make sure you have a good gas seal on both ends and everything lines up. fit it tight. Good luck.
