    Too close? (Lockplate screw placement.

Yeah, you would think 3 books and a DVD would be enough, but I think my having to post this question here proves otherwise. The older I get the more questions I have. I had far less 30 years ago. I imagine I'll be back.

    Too close? (Lockplate screw placement.

Just to clear things up, my concern was the close proxcimity of the lock plate bolt hole to the bolster bolt. Just as Tom deciphered. Contemplating a Flinter Build

I bought a TVM builders special kit, Leman. I believe you can get any model they offer in the special kit. Be aware that only the barrel and ram rod channels are cut. Most of the inletting is left up to you. http://www.avsia.com/tvm/kitspecial.html

    Tool choice advice wanted.

I'm working on my first kit and am inletting the breech area. I'm using a small chisel at the moment but the area is getting pretty tight now that it's near done. I was wondering what others use to finish up this area. TIA.

    Salutations and a question.

Yeah, I remember wearring socks on our hands while handing our rifles before inspection in boot. Some people have mucho sheen. There's a difference between browning/bluing rust and chipping hammer rust,I want to avoid the later. Good to hear my concerns are unwarrented.

    Salutations and a question.

I figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone, so hello this is my first post. I'll start with a question, I've ordered my first flintlock kit. What is the concensus on which metal protectant is the best to use on the metal, pre-browning? I'll be taking my time on the stock and don't want the...
