What is your favorite dream hunt?

Cape Buffalo hunt.......I ain't scared. With a good back-up my 54 Cal Hawken should do the job.

    Wow I forgot

Well I was successful with my dads Renegade. Not big for most our country, but not bad for a Florida swamp buck. 171 lb 8 point.

How long have you been ......

Started with my T/C 54 cal Hawken in 1984......28 years. Until just recently all I ever shot out of it was a conical; Buffalo Bullets and Hornady Great Plains mostly. Now I've started shooting RB and I love it........do I really need a 400 plus grain conical for a Florida Whitetail? ...... :hmm:

    Rear sight problem

I figured it out. There is a tiny set screw in front of the sight. The only way to get to it is to take out the elevation screw and swing the sight up. I wonder why they designed it that way? Oh well I backed it out a half turn and the windage adjustment works great.

    Rear sight problem

I'll pull it out of the safe and take a look. Dont't know how old the rifle is, but the barrel doesn't have Seneca on it; no black powder only warning either. I'll look at my Hawken and Renegade sights too.......thanks for the info..

    Rear sight problem

Took my Seneca to the range this morning. I'm having a problem with the windage adjustment screw; it turns 1/4 turn in both directions, but no more. Don't want to force it, so I soaked it in oil hoping I can get it to adjust properly. No rust that I can see......am I missing something? Any...

    Patch thickness for RB

Never shot much round ball......a lot confused about patch thickness, material, lubed or unlubed; lube them myself. Want to start out right with my Seneca and shoot prb only just not sure what patch to buy.....do I need to try them in all thicknesses and see what the rifle likes? Seems logical...

    New to me

Definitely not wanting to turn it into a magnum; have a 54 Hawken for that. I wouldn't consider loading it near the TC maximum for the Seneca. I was thinking more like 60-65 grains of ffg and using a maxi-ball instead of a prb.

    New to me

If bedding the tang can prevent splitting I'm doing it before I shoot it.

    New to me

Seneca, and it appears to be unfired; always wanted one. Forgot how small and light they are compared to Hawken or Renegade. Gonna work up a load with a 245 gr Maxi-Ball and take it deer hunting. Will keep it under 70 grains to be safe; don't want to crack the stock. Anyone have an opinion on...

    Seneca Questions

I found a hotshot for the Seneca, also fits the Cherokee, and Patriot......need to buy a couple more.

    Seneca Questions

I'm in the process of acquiring a 45 cal Seneca, and can't seem to find a hotshot nipple for this rifle; doesn't appear that they make one for the Seneca. Any advise as to what nipple works best? Also wondering about powder selection. I've searched and read some post, opinions seem to vary...

    Wow I forgot

Good luck with Dexter Mary Farms.....I used to hunt it some when it was a private lease......nice piece of property, especially the swamp close to the river South of Astor. My dad and I both have taken some nice deer on the refuge with bows and muzzleloaders. Water is down on the river, but...

    Wow I forgot

I got drawn for the second (Nov 3,4,&5) Muzzleloader hunt on the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge. I've bow (recurve) hunted the refuge all my life, but haven't put in for the muzzleloader hunt in years. Maybe it will have cooled down a bit. I got the second archery too; sure to do some...

    Wow I forgot

how much fun shooting muzzleloaders can be. Got drawn for a hunt here in Florida so I went to the range last Saturday. I hadn't shot my T/C 54 cal Hawken in years, and my father, having had a recent quadruple bypass, cannot hunt this year, so I took along his 50 cal Renegade. I ended up not...
