    Recurrent barrel rust?

    Ballistol Is hygroscopic this means it takes up water ,(you can add water to use it as a milk for your patche's) so it is no surprise your barrel gets rusty after a while.

    The rifle has a lollipop peepsite as can be seen in the book : the muzzleloading caplock rifle. I can fix something temporarely to mount the scope. The barrel is octagonal , so that would be no problem.
