    DIY round ball patch material

    I've found that there is a variation in thickness between just the blue alone (from .10 to .17) so I always take my calipers in with me to the fabric store... just make sure it's 100% cotton, and wash it good to get the sizing out :front:

    Your problem could be that by blowing out with a plastic tube, you are adding moisture to your barrel. When you exhale, it contains a large amount of moisture in your breath. Is humidity in your area a problem? I have found that Triple 7 and Pyrodex don't seem to burn as well... :m2c:

    Range Report, Heavy loads, GPP

    My GPP is in .54 cal., as is my Hawkins, thus eliminating the confusion, when I grab for a ball. I fire 30grains of FFF, with a .530 roundball, have excellent results with it. :m2c:

    I agree, I have a 54 cal. plains pistol from lyman, and it is extremely accurate!!! have split balls on an axehead from 20 yards several times with it!!! :results:
