Thank you Cannon, I will wait a bit and see if Bubba speaks up.

    New Seneca

I appreciate the info from everyone. Any suggestions to enhance accuracy are greatly appreciated. Should be a fun little gun to hunt with (loaded on the light side).

    New Seneca

I was not looking for a .45 but could not turn this one down. The price was very reasonable and it's in great shape. The warranty card came with it showing the date it was purchased in 1976. I bought it from the original owner who shot it very little. I read that the Seneca first came out in...

Twist rate on TC Big Boar

The TC Big Boar .58 is fairly new to me & I was wondering about twist rates in it. Read an old post here where someone said the 4 digit ser. # barrels were 1-66, all others were 1-48. I measured mine, rechecking 5-6 times. Looks more like 1-52. The gun has a 4 digit ser#. Allowing for some...

How do you fare shooting opposite handed

I am in the "can't feed myself left handed" category but was forced to shoot that way this year or risk spooking this buck. Luckily the range was short.

`First buck with ML in a long time

Thank you Grumpa, I always enjoy reading the stories posted here. I agree with you about commenting on a post, what is there to complain about ?

    Your first ML rifle

It was a .50 cal. TC White Mountain Carbine. At the time I didn't think it really fit the image of a traditional muzzleloader but took the recommendation of a friend and bought it. My only complaint is that it isn't very accurate with round ball but it sure is nice to carry, especially when...

`First buck with ML in a long time

Did not weigh him. Had one that dressed right at 200 lbs a few years ago, he was not quite that big. Skinned both these deer, neither one had any fat on them, burned it all of chasing girls. They are well fed here. The 8 pt. appears to be 3.5 yrs old.

`First buck with ML in a long time

On the opening morning of Michigan's 2017 firearm deer season my 85 year old Father shot a very nice 7 point with his old Marlin lever gun. It is the biggest buck he has taken in a very long career of hunting in northern Mi. Not a ML be please read on. On Dec. 3rd I sat in that same stand with...

    PRB stuck in barrel

That is pretty much what I did before going back out. Loaded the gun and one reload with same patch. Next reload had thin patch. Will be trying different patch thickness in the future. When the temp gets out of single digits. Yah, I'm a whimp. Never noticed any ignition issues with Pyrodex but...

    Damascus patch knife

Also wondering where I might find one ?

Making a peep sight, I cant find it again

I read about someone making their own rear peep sight a while ago and now I cannot find it. Anyone know who posted that or where it is ? Would like to try this if I can get some more details.

    PRB stuck in barrel

I used mainly conicals until now also. Yes, I used two patches. Tried Pyrodex when I could not find black powder. Other than being traditional what are the objections to Pyrodex ?
