I no longer hunt but in the past i've hunted in the wind, when it was calm, when it was hot or cold, in the snow and in the rain. Least favorite was in the rain.
I use GI ammo cans. Each caliber has it's own can. The flintlocks have a separate can. Everything goes in the can except the range rod and the gun. I only shoot on the range, don't hunt any longer.

Having hunted squirrels in Kentucky, Maryland, and Arizona, the squirrels in those places don't seem to care what you wear and they see you anyway. I always had better luck with them just wearing some kind of subdued in color clothing.
It seems to me that I only remember the days at the shooting outings I go to where I have problems with guns. The good days aren't worth remembering it seems.
I only shoot at club shoots on the bp range or out at a desert site that isn.t easy to get to. No place with easy public access. On the desert I have se;lf defense weapons available.
I have two recurves of about 50 lbs pull and haven't used them for a couple of years. My arthritic fingers and hand won't allow me to keep control of the string being pulled while knocked. fingers magically slip from the string too soon and the arrow just goes where it wants to go. Sad...
