    Stupid shotgun idea?

My apologies. I know how irksome it can be to have a new member make inappropriate postings. There was no malice but my ignorance and my fault. GOOD LUCK! Bob Wilson

    Stupid shotgun idea?

Jim sponsors a Kentucky Rifle show at Wheeler, Jan 10-12: https://www.longrifle.com/event/3rd-annual-alabama-kentucky-rifle-show/ I plan to visit the show and was also visiting to pickup tickets. Jim recommended paying at the door which works for me. Next to see if we can reserve a room at the...

    Stupid shotgun idea?

I got to meet Jim Patterson at Calvary Longrifles and we had a great time. Jim went over the pistol including taking the lock off. Sad to say, the rod seats against the front screw which caused a little problem. He gave me four, pistol flints and then set off a pan load. The pistol worked...

    Stupid shotgun idea?

Modern steel is relatively light weight and strong. The lock is not under significant stress so it only needs mounting to keep it in position and the 'torch hole' (sp?) aligned. The only technical challenge I see is the chamber lip which is why I want to brass case as a liner and gas seal. My...

    Stupid shotgun idea?

Someone often out of shape who goes to the range once or twice before hunting season. They think an automatic, 12 ga., makes them a great hunter and are appalled by a break-open, single shot. Easily bored, they shoot anything regardless of species. They bring alcohol into or the edge of the...

    Stupid shotgun idea?

Hi, I have been looking at an Indian trade musket kit, ~$800, to get a smooth bore, flintlock. Then I noticed Dixie sells the flint lock, both right and left handed. So I wondered if I could make a meat-gun: single-shot 12-20 ga shotgun brass case drill and press a brass tube mount the flint...

    Shooting a flintlock handgun

My birthday present was a Traditions, trapper pistol (1090) that came with nothing else: Most of my questions have been answered and I still have my Thompson 50 cal, cap-and-ball, supplies: black powder, round and conical, cleaning rod, e.t.c. My one problem is I've yet to find anyone...

Hi, A retired network engineer, NASA contractor, I returned to the zen of shooting about 8 years ago with a Thompson, 50 cal, cap, rifle. Being in charge of everything from powder to projectile on a shot-by-shot basis, wonderful ... except for the butt shaped bruises. A quick stop at the old...
