    Landsknecht Arquebus and Petronel

concerning the pushbutton gun / l hadn't seen an example with the button spring on the off side - curious. The button forward of the dog works well with the lefthand second finger and l find it enables a steadier hold. l found two examples of the 'primer-spanner-dagger' and was curious whether...

    Matchlock with sliding pan cover

?? Testing the match?? There is a reason for the forehead to nose depression in the face on the 'serpent/dog/cock' . lf you press the match into it with 1/2" or so to the coal, it will line up with the pan. Try it.

    Jager Projectiles

lf l remember right, l experimented with round balls in cartridge barrels and found they dropped faster with the increase in twist. the yeagers were essentially a close quarters hunting gun , large bore, large charge, and the faster twist should increase the velocity. ???

    Places to get a matchlock?

This was actually a common alternative pushbutton tinderlock mechanism. The button trigger is activated with the left middle finger quite comfortably and without causing drift to the hold There is a flat spring behind the wood which extends back toward the breech from the button and releases...
