    Locks included?

From what I've learned so far is if you sell 50 or less kits or finished guns in 1 year that you are exempt from the excise tax. 51 or more there's an 11% tax. I think thats why some of the larger makers charge a tax or is exempt if kit is minus the barrel or lock and purched from someone...

    Locks included?

I was wondering if any one knows the legality of offering locks with a rifle or pistol kit? Bill Kennedy did not include the lock in his part sets, some technicality or has the law changed? I always get different answers to the same question. Thanks Don Yerks

Here's a picture of the original pistol showing the proof marks. One is a "V" rough proof and the second "GP" is the final proof. I hope this helps. Don

Yepper, they are the same proof marks and the stamps are from England. Sorry Post Rider, when you asked about two screws opposite the lock, I thought Hangfeyer answered the question.

    Captain Jack's pistol

In the first movie the original pistol was used and the second movie Bill Kennedy made the pistol. It is not made up of different pistols, It is a Perry London Pistol. I am now building two of these pistols, both mounted in sterling silver.

    J.P. Beck Pistol

Thank you Blizzard. It is not your typical "Dueler" design, but a lot of Kentucky pistols did evolve from that style. Some duelers even had the "holster pistol butt" shape, like the English Georgian pistol.

    J.P. Beck Pistol

Thank you Brett. The side plate, butt cap, trigger guard, trigger plate and pipes are designed by Bill Kennedy, based on the original Beck pistol. The swaged nose cap, barrel, stock and silver thumb piece were made by me. The .50 barrel (s) I made from blank stock by Rice, with 1-22 twist...

    J.P. Beck Pistol

Here's a few pictures of the first Beck pistol that I built using the mountings developed by Bill Kennedy. The barrel is a 10", .50 cal rifled (NO SIGHTS) made by me in my shop . Bill was working on an 8" Beck pistol, but never got to finish it, so this is the first to be completed.
