    Smokleless in cannon??

Hey Blizzard, I served as a ground pounder so my M1 was pretty much all I was concerned with so please tell me if you can,why is it that the big guns on the Abrams etal tanks are smooth bore? I think I caught part of the answer on the military channel one night and it had something to do with...

    How many strikes per flint?

Mizzy wheels work pretty well for sharpening flints. They go on a mandral for use with a Dremel tool. For ordering, go to Jewelry Supply.com

    Smoothbore Accuracy

Not meaning to start any flames here or disrespect anyone in this thread, but I just don't get it and never will. When I get geared up to shoot my flintlock rifle, and I do mean geared up as it's not like dropping a few rounds down the loading tube of my model '06 and start plinking away,I have...

How far will a BP cannon shoot a golf ball?

I remember shortly after WW11 I got hold of some aluminum BBs for my air rifle. Couldn't hit that obnoxious street light from my bedroom window like I could using the old copper ammo. They would corkscrew off to who knows where.

All These Custom Builders - Need Help...

Hey Jetcanoe, (what the hell is a jetcanoe anyway: :yakyak: ), don't be a weenie, grab the bull by the horns like many of us have done and read all you can, buy a video or two, buy the few tools you will need and build your own rifle. I doubt if everyone's first rifle turns out perfect, but it's...

    gunkit ?

I've had good luck dealing with Track of the Wolf. They have a great catalog showing many kits, parts, books etc. and they offer prompt service provided the item is in stock. Also, the guys up there are very helpful for the most part.

    T.O.W. stock pining.

I drilled mine all the way through. Don't think I've ever seen one drilled part way. Unless you're using a drill press and plan on using a hand held drill, go very slow. It's always good to have someone else with you to check for plumb.

    sights

Read a post about a right hand shooting guy whose left eye was the dominate one. He mounted a 1 inch mirror on the tang facing toward the muzzle and lined up with the iron sights. He then mounted another mirror about 8 inches farther down and on the left hand side of the barrel and facing the...

Newbie...Can I build a beauty or have one built ??

That's exactly how I feel about my guns. I made them from bits and pieces I got from Track and not necessarly one particular style or school. I guess southern mountain would best describe them, but I built what I wanted and they are all mine. I don't feel advanced enough to try any carving or...

    Questions, questions

You should file the flats on the barrel pretty smooth and finish up with a few different grits of emery to get a smooth finish. Some guys get to this point then bead blast the barrel. They claim this way, it can take the browning better and easier. I've gotten all of my stuff from TOW and found...
