Jaeger Rifle or Long Rifle ?

Yes! I was just looking at the French "Fine Fusil" kit from The R.E. Davis Company. I didn't squander my youth on education or family. I had one hell of a time. Unfortunately, I'm being paid back for the horses, football, war, and motorcycles. I have a consult with neurosurgery to kill the pain...

My first build, Pedersoli Trade Musket Kit

Very well done! I, too, have been wanting to do a Trade Gun. Who did you get the kit from and how long is the barrel?

    SxS Trigger Won't Pull

I should have followed up on this post long ago. I sent the receiver with the locks back to Dixie Gun Works. Jamie, their gunsmith, did an excellent job on the triggers. Not as good as those found on a Parker Shotgun, but close enough. Just can't say enough good things about that outfit.

Jaeger Rifle or Long Rifle ?

I purchased a Jaeger Kit from Dixie gun works in .54 caliber. I hunt mostly woods for deer and of all the deer I've shot there were only a handful that were over 100 yards. I like the look and feel of the Jaeger. In fact, I find it quite handy. The kit was not hard and I found that those little...

    Kodiak .58x.58 Regulation

Many of the double rifles of 100+ years ago had one standing and two folding leaf sights. Often 50 yards standing, 100, and 200 hundred folding. My guess is they were still shooting accurately enough at these distances. Personally, I don't like shooting much beyond 100 yards with iron sights in...

    SxS Trigger Won't Pull

Thanks for everyones suggestions and encouragement. I pulled both locks and the right sear is just too stiff. The rear trigger for the left lock is near the rear of the trigger guard bow. It will release the cock occasionally. I have a hand full of Pedersoli's and have never experienced such...

    SxS Trigger Won't Pull

I just received a SxS Pedersoli 20 gauge Flintlock Fowler. Much to my dismay the front trigger will not pull to release the cock. My thought is the trigger was in the wrong position when the lock was installed. I have asked Dixie Gun Works if I may try to fix it or send it back for them to...

    Excessive Riflousis

My father told me, "Anyone that doesn't have 30 guns is underprivileged." Did he mean total guns? I error on the side of each category.

    Kodiak .58x.58 Regulation

I purchased the Kodiak .58x.58 from Trail Guns Armory in League City Texas some 40 years ago. Col. Mike Powasnick had taken his Kodiak to Africa and proved it on Cape Buffalo. He shot 665 and 700 grain R.E.A.L. bullets. I ordered some from him and BINGO! Regulation! Double rifles bullets will...
