    Gardening ..again

Agree, and (heavy) salt & pepper is all I use too. Only have steak about once a month due to cost.

    Gardening ..again

Man I love a good ribeye, but agree with @snakebit, especially on the first few tomato sandwiches. Either Dukes or Blue Plate mayo and lots of salt and pepper. Now if you add some beacon it’s a hands down favorite. But after the first 3 or 4 I’ll take the ribeye too!

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Sure thing. I still had everything sitting out on the workbench so I took a picture. For exterior metal I start with assorted small flat files and shaped needle files, then sandpaper 320 to 600. Then use wool polishing tips and red rouge to polish out. For the inside I only use very fine stones...

    Awfully quiet over at Kiblers.

Concern over the new Fowler barrel is unwarranted. I don’t have any reference books on Fowlers, but I have several on trade guns. What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

After sitting in the shop for over a year I decided to get back to work on the walnut .36 SMR. I had already cleaned up and fitted the furniture, sized the pins, slotted the barrel lugs, and fitted the ram rod. But nothing to the wood, barrel finish, or lock. So I’m starting on the lock. Now...

Storing black powder in a shed

Just put the powder in the corner of your bedroom closet. Several pounds won’t take up any space and it will be safe and sound and a lot happier than in your shed.

    Awfully quiet over at Kiblers.

Use a shot snake and use whatever power measure you use for powder. Your shot load should be equal to or up to twice your powder load in volume. Experimentation will show you which volume of shot patterns best in your gun, same for powder load. But 60 grains is a good place to start, especially...
