Did a fair amount of shooting today with my .36 SMR. It was not pretty, but you got to show the bad with the good. I had the rifle pretty well dialed in already but I wanted to tweak it for Squirrel hunting. My shooting was off, I’d swear my vision gets worse every year
. Was shooting from the bench at 25 & 35 yards. Using .350 cast RBs, .022 patches, and a 1 to 4 ratio Dawn & water lube. I had previously settled on 35 gr of Swiss 3F, but I went back to 30 gr and then up to 40 gr. Seemed like the 40 gr load was printing well so I made a couple of sight adjustments and tried shooting at the squirrel targets. I just could not see them clearly as the results show. But I’ll try again tomorrow. Was using Goex 4F for prime, zero issues with the rifle besides retightening the jaw screw a couple of times. Also had zero problems with fouling. I did swab the bore after about 15 shots but it really wasn’t necessary. The squirrels are relatively safe for now.
