    I moved recently and I’m finally in the process of changing my storage room into a workshop. This is going to be the workbench I use to work on my guns. It was my great grandfathers so I’m the fourth generation to use it. I’m still waiting for my mat and a few more things.

    The first small crew I dropped on a dark carpet literally took me twenty minutes to find. I've put disassembly on hold until I set up my work bench., with my mat, magnetic containers, etc.

    Thanks! Just ordered both, got four different size weighted bowls for $9.99 and a mat for $14.99. All the stuff I bought so far is going to make a lot of different tasks I undertake easier.

    It's interesting that you mentioned that. After reading up on basic gunsmithing tools, the largest expense I made was for a set of screwdrivers specifically designed for gunsmiths. When they arrived I took out a few screws and quickly discovered there was pretty much no way I could have done it...

    Wedge Issue: Any pointers for getting the wedge out of a Pietta 1851 Navy for the first time.

    Mike, I have a new Pietta 1851 Navy that I want to have tuned so the action is much smoother and things like the wedge don't require a hammer and punches to remove. Please let me know where to send the gun and how much to include as payment, or if that's something not allowed on this forum...

    I'm stuck right now trying to get the wedge to slide out so I can access the cylinder, etc. I don't want to damage the finish so I've been pretty gentle with it. Oh, and the action is terrible, I think that's going to be job #1.
