Yessir, that was years ago and I was taking what I could get !! Things are much better these days . After you've seen "most" things and figured out exactly what your services are going to be along with execution, it helps with the time element.
No JUNK from my shop!!! 🤠

Mike,

I have a new Pietta 1851 Navy that I want to have tuned so the action is much smoother and things like the wedge don't require a hammer and punches to remove. Please let me know where to send the gun and how much to include as payment, or if that's something not allowed on this forum, where I can find that information. Thanks! David

I have found that the best surface upon which to place the gun when removing the wedge is my lap.

Use a small resin mallet with a shaped piece of wood and Bob’s yer uncle.

I have one and although it’s the perfect size for dovetails it’s too soft- it mushrooms and bends.
I end up borrowing a friend’s bronze punch ground down similar to Tracks’ tool.
For Colt revolver wedges I use a hardwood punch- but only on new guns, after break-in they don’t get stuck.
