Will this work if the discharger had moved the rod tip about 2 or so inches from the bottom? Will this cause excessive pressure in the barrel resulting in what type of reaction?
Just had chance to fire new/old 54 Renegade that I had posted about last week. Shoots patched balls great. I was just getting to adjust sights when I decided to clean barrel with patch. My fiberglass ramrod broke at bottom of barrel just where it connected to female end of rod. CO2 discharger...
Just picked up 54. Cleaned and lubed, Looks clean shiny in bore. Minor dings on stock. Looks good overall. Ran into problems finding cleaning jags. Will have to order one. Planning to shoot rb. have them already. What would make good patch lube if I cut my own patches from pillow ticking...

I would say a renegade. 15/16 " Octagon barrell 27 inches, overall 42 inches. Metal butplate and straight. Caplock, flintlocks are rare in Al. Double set triggers, no nosecap, wooden ramrod.
I just located a 54 Cal. TC with set trigger. My friend said it looked good. Asking price was $200.00/ MY QUESTION IS "IS THIS A GOOD PRICE FOR A 54 TC. WHAT SIZE BALL WOULD IT TAKE.
I have been looking for a flintlock to start learning on. Have considered the Firestorm or the Traditions deerhunter both in 50. The firestorm is about 400 and traditions about 200. Don't know about warranty or service of either. Any suggestions?
