Just had chance to fire new/old 54 Renegade that I had posted about last week. Shoots patched balls great. I was just getting to adjust sights when I decided to clean barrel with patch. My fiberglass ramrod broke at bottom of barrel just where it connected to female end of rod. CO2 discharger would not dislodge. I had to leave range. At home, I tried discharger again but no results. Ball puller would not catch. Tried to blow out with air compressor, but not enough seal. Inverted faucet washer on nipple and made enough seal to disloge. Back in business. Just wanted to share with everyone.

A hefty pinch of powder placed under the nipple will allow you shoot out a stuck/broken jag.

When ever I bloop a load out after a hunt with my air compressor I always have to remove the nipple or vent liner first...the tiny holes are too restrictive

Will this work if the discharger had moved the rod tip about 2 or so inches from the bottom? Will this cause excessive pressure in the barrel resulting in what type of reaction?

+1 on Rebels response. Not enough powder to cause any kind of mishap. If it still is lodged in the barrel after this consult a gunsmith.

When I was a "geenie" , used to load too MANY shots before a swab. DAMM stuck ramrod! What to do? Same as above but aim slightly off from straight up, downwind if its blowing (ever shot an arrow straight up.....), jag and ramrod go for a flight, if you take off the ramrod it's hard to find the jag unless you shoot it into a semisoft surface (e.g. dirt) then you have to clean it well before it touches the barrel again....

Since ya got it out will not elaborate there.

However, I would get rid of that fiberglass RR as they cause excessive muzzle wear. (Been there done that Years ago)
When hunting I use a wooden RR. (And keep in mind it is a RR and made of wood, not a coal chissel or a jack hammer.)
At the range I use a Brass or SS range rod with a bore guide.

I don't pull a ball with a wooden RR unless I absolutely for sure have to....... I would shoot it out, or use a Brass or SS range rod to pull it out, or CO2 discharger, or air compressor. I have seen ALLOT of RR tips twisted off with ball pullers. Ya got to use allot of caution when using a wooden RR to pull one. :hmm:
