    After reading all the replies I had another look at my rifle. It seems the cock is contacting the wood and tilting the pan away from the barrel, so removing some wood would seem the right thing to do. Any ideas on matching the color on the stock where I'll be removing the wood? Thanks again! Padre

    Thanks Zonie, what a great idea! :bow: I wasn't going to put it into a vise for that very reason, but hadn't thought of your suggestion for holding it. Well, it's out now; soaked it a little more, used Zonie's method of holding it, a new nipple wrench, and out it came!! Thanks everyone...

    This is probably a dumb question, but how do you fill a powder horn through the neck easily? I've only used a horn that accepts a funnel so far, but I've just bought a nice Cureton horn and there's only one small hole in the neck! Thanks in advance for your help. Padre
