    Cabela'sBlue Ridge Ramrod

Guys I found a pretty simple solution that won't require me to alter the pipes. TOTW stocks 9mm ramrod blanks. I just placed my order. That was easy. When I get it I'll turn down the ends in the lathe to fit the caps and then drill and cross pin. The factory rod tips are held on with a...

    Cabela'sBlue Ridge Ramrod

Thanks for the good tips guys. Doh! Why didn't I make the 9mm connection with .350". I've handled enough pistol bullets that size. I will order the 3/8 replacement rod and try my hand at replacing the tips. I did have another thought as well though. I'll pull my pipes and see if they have...

    Cabela'sBlue Ridge Ramrod

I bought my first flintlock last fall, a Cabela's Blue Ridge by Pedersoli. It's been a great rifle and I enjoy shooting it tremendously. Unforunately during my last range trip the ramrod snapped in two. What's strange is that I'm pretty careful to never bend or bang on the rod. I realize...

    Newbie Question

I just bought a Blue Ridge in .50 cal. It has two sideplate screws. The one main one that you remove from the left side of the gun, then there is a small secondary one at the very front of the lock. This one is a short wood screw.

    How to determine proper prime?

Danged it, I bet it would have been much more accurate if I'd used some sage or oregano. Perhaps I was to graphic in describing "seasoning". I simply cleaned the gun with hot water and then ran a patch of bore butter down it while it was still warm. I doubt it harmed anything or helped...

    How to determine proper prime?

Bear with me, there's a question at the end... My new Blue Ridge .50 cal came in from Cabela's. This morning I lapped the bore, cleaned it out with hot water, and then seasoned it while still hot. I won't be able to get to the range until Monday, but I wanted to get a feel for the ignition...

Pedersoli vs. Traditions for First Flinter

Thanks for the advice guys. I just ordered the Blue Ridge from Cabela's. 3-6 business days and I'll have a flintlock to start playing with. For the guys who have Pedersoli's, what loads work well for you? I've only got some Goex FFg for black. Should I get FFFFg for priming and shoot FFg...

Pedersoli vs. Traditions for First Flinter

I'm looking for some advice on what will be my first flinter. I've had it in my mind for a couple years that I want to get myself a flintlock long rifle. It will be used for casual shooting for fun, very likely whitetail hunting, and possibly for a "woods walk" shoot at a club. I have no...
