I have checked locally, I have checked online Cabela's, online Sportsman's warehouse, MidwayUSA, Midsouth shooters supply and no one offers them, all they offer are metric. When did the United States go metric? Needless to say, that is a bit disconcerting. I have musket nipples and musket percussion caps but I would like to get at least one extra 1/4-28 thread #11 nipple for this rifle because I found some Winchester Magnum #11 percussion caps and they work GREAT! No misfires at all. Pedersoli offers the nipples and I could have gotten them for what I consider an exhorbitant price but that's the way it goes. But then, the shipping charges are higher than the cost of the nipples! This must be what happens when you deal with socialist countries.

Thank you so much fellow black powder shooters, those are suppliers I was totally unfamiliar with. I just reentered the sport a month or so ago and it's been almost chaos trying to get up to speed.

Grenadier1758, I was unsure if the TC nipples would work, don't they have a little cross drilled hole in the cone? It's called a Hot Shot RST. At least in the Track of the Wolf catalog it shows them that way. I don't see any problem with them but I am not familiar with them at all. Anyway, thanks for all the help and the many new resources I have at my disposal.

Kids and grand kids showing up tomorrow, haven't seen them for over a year and a half. It's a bit crazy around here right now. Take care, see you in abut a week.

Pedersolis are a mix of metric and sae. My Bess uses M5x.8 for both the tang bolt and ramrod jag/worm threading, while my Harper's Ferry percussion pistol's ramrod is threaded 10-32 and the nipple is 1/4-28. :dunno:

Don't forget Dixie Gun Works in TN also caries the standard Pedersoli Nipple 1/4 x 28. I have ordered many from them in the past as I like to have plenty of extras. I believe the catalog number is 1365 but just double check. Good luck to you sir.

All you need to do is call Track Of The Wolf and they will get you what you need, mailed to your door, not a lot of money. Buy 6?? Buy 10! Buy what you want, you only need a couple. 1/4x28 is common. Cabela's, Bass Pro and the like are basically worthless unless its bass lures or centerfire/Ar-15 rifle stuff you are after.
