Nice one - yeah pictures, we need pictures! Hey, if you are a NMLRA member, they have an award for whitetail harvested with MZ's I believe they have to be over 130 B&C, most 10 pointers will surpass that score. Good job!

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, BLEEP! I almost missed this!..congrats and ATTABOY but you should've put it under muzzleloading hunting!!! (with the rest of us real successful hunters..hehehehe!) now get the pics..it's show and tell time! more story ..some pics and you can even add a bleep er two! good going! RC :hatsoff:

Thanks guys!!! Details ok my pleasure!! Left for a good friends of mine with my .50 caliber Thompson Center Renegade percussion side lock. We got in to the wood late around 16:00 hours only had around 1.5 hours to hunt. Climbed up a 15-foot tri-pod stand on the edge of a field and some hard wood. Sun was setting into the field. Sun had just set and was going to give it another 15 minutes before I was going to climb down. Here is Mississippi you must quit hunting 30 minutes after sun set. I heard my hunting partner coming from his stand so I began to gather my equipment and climb down. Well some I caught some movement out of the corner of my eye from the other direction from where my companion was walking to me from. I turned slowly and there he was standing about 75 meters down toward a small creek bottom. I was kind of in an awkward position I had de-capped the .50 caliber T/C Renegade percussion side lock in preparation to be lowered from the stand. I had motioned to my partner to stop and be quiet and pointed over towards the buck. He motioned back he could not see him. Well my next move was to re-cap my rifle with out being detected. So I reached in my possible bag for my priming caps and re-capped her with out making the buck bolt!!! Let me add one other thing it was cold very cold even for us this time of year. So took aim and squeezed and bang!!!! After the smoke cleared I climbed down to meet my comrade all ready there at the fallen buck. I started the cleaning process while my hunting college went for the 4 wheel ATV. We were maybe ½ of a Kilometer from his house. Well that pretty much sums it up. I consider myself lucky to have bagged this one. So many things could have gone wrong and the deer get spooked.

Well I thought it was more percussion related then hunting. Do to the fact I had to cap after climbing into the stand, de-cap before attempting to leave the stand and had to re-cap before I was able to make the shot.So I figured do to those circumstances it would be more fitting to have posted it here. If the moderators see it different well I guess they will move it. I look at it more as to what harvested the animal then the hunt. kind of like man, moment and machine. For those just reading this please read the second post I made here and you will understand all that about the capping..........LOL
