I left mine alone.
I use a 6 o'clock hold and about an inch or so left.

I replace the front sight on the 1860, 61, 62, etc. with the Open top Army sight or the SAA sight. (SAA sight is much taller than needed but filed to fit) I also modify the rear sight notch, widening to adjust for windage if needed.

I am REALLY impressed with your one-handed shooting with that revolver . I did that kind of shooting with my modern accurized bullseye target guns way back when! Great shooting Catcus Jack you are a true "Pistolero" for sure!

I just picked up a Pietta .44. Manual states .454 ball, some forums state .451. Has anyone had any issues with .451? Of course, topped off with grease to prevent a finger from flying or worse. 25 grains (usual load) of fffg
