1858 Loading Stand

I have the Powder Inc. model now for a couple of years. I bought it from Cowboy Action Shooter **** Dastardly's site . mine has the spring. We reload several .44 pistol cylinders at one time using a .454 ball cast from wheel weights (Harder then good soft lead -that would be easier) Its hard to load a wheel weight ball with the guns own lever. then we switch to a .36 caliber 1851 colt cylinder without a hitch,., a real nice loader. You may want to save the time and just take your loader to a hardware store and get a spring fitted for a dollar ., there you could get a diameter to fit but with a little higher spring tension and then youd have it ! good luck.

I received my cylinder loader from Powderinc today and am pretty pleased with it. When it came it was dry and yes the loading rod would stick in the brass bushing. A small amount of grease applied to the loading rod and the handle in the vicinity of the bushings cured the problem. The lack of a spring does not seem to hinder it's operation in the least. All in all a good product although I do wish the handle was a couple of inches longer. The extra leverage would make seating the balls a little easier. I'm lazy what can I say. :blah: :thumbsup:
