I've just noticed that when my Uberti 1858 Remington New Model Army is fully cocked the nipple isn't perfectly centred in the frame. Does this mean the cylinder alignment is out? It is an older model. Also, if the cylinder alignment isn't perfect is this dangerous to shoot? I'll try and find a wooden dowel to check properly soon.

Seems to me that the timing is off,; check the cylinder bore alignment to the barrel bore....revolver unloaded, look down barrel when cylinder is fully cocked. You should be able to see if there is any misalignment.
