My 2nd hunt of the season! I had 2 Jakes come by this morning, and this one tempted me for too long!! Nice young bird, 5” beard.
My 20 ga smoothbore was loaded with the SkyChief Special, 60gr of 2f under 70 gr of #5 lead shot. Shot distance was about 12 steps. Looking forward to next week, hopefully fill that last tag!!!

Excellent Brad!!! Great looking photograph.

12 yards? Some are shooters, others hunters. You are in the latter friend.

Congratulations and good luck with number two.

Thanks for sharing, Skychief.

Tsaan Wookkuh Brad!!!

Thems good eats!!! And lots of fun!! Good luck on the other tag!

My wonderful wife is sending me out tomorrow to try and find some more gobblers, since today got rained out!!

Thanks y’all!!

This being my 5th Flintlock bird, I can’t wait to get after them again tomorrow!!!

As far as having them close...
My first 2 were at 11 steps
Next two were at 8 steps
Now this one at 12

For an average of 10!!!!

Coincidentally, my average with Traditional Archery at 30some-odd big game critters is just under 11 yds!!!!

I like em close, and I’m thinking no more pop up blinds, they’re cheating after killing this bird in the wide open!!!
