I am in the process of conducting a more in depth test, as i will be testing multiple shot sizes, powder charges, and and varying the overshot card thickness (by adding 1, 2, or even 3).

I just picked up some large white paper that measures 3 by 3 feet, and i have enough sheets for maybe 20 shots......

Hopefully i will have it up before next weekend....

I was thinking just that, what i actually did was i used a old single stage shotgun re loader i had to dispense the shot/powder at the range...
it worked quite well.

I kind of think the nickel plated shot may have something to do with it......

In my future test i will compare lead to nickel

Assuming that you got that shot from BPI, the lead in their nickel plated shot is not very hard. Those 20's do seem to pattern very well.

I do use some plated shot, but only because I can tell the copper 6's from the lead 7.5's in the field without my glasses.

yes, i did get the nickel plated shot from BPI, i havent tested the hardness yet, but it does pattern well....
