I used to think it was a waste of money to buy cleaning patches and would use random rags cut to size. Probably 10 years ago I realized how cheap patches are of you buy them in bulk compared to small packs. $10 for 500 at midwayusa, can't beat it. I use the 10,12,16 ga cotton flannel patches for my 50 cal.
