I went to the range yesterday to shot my shot for the duel, so I thought after I shot I would work up a load with 3f goex, I usualy use 2f.I haven't had so many missfires ever. With 2f I have never had this even shooting over 100 shots. I did every thing the same swabed between shots used the same stuff for cleaning the barrel ect. I gess I shouldn't fix what wasn't broken. Well my T/C.50 likes 2f. Mabey when I get my GPR finished she will like 3f, than I would only have to carry one horn for priming and shooting. F.K.

I prime my Bess with 2F. As I get older I find that my reflexes can't tell the difference between 2F and 3F priming. You might give it a try next time you are on the range.

Strange I cant thinkof any reason 3 wouldnt shoot as good as 2 (or not at all???) any of the 20 or so MLs Ive got left if it will shoot 2 it shoots 3 just as good if not a bit better? (Ive been shooting since 1971) :hmm: Fred :hatsoff:

It was like the crud packed the patent breach. I would take a shot and then on my next one the cap would go off but no bang put on another cap it would go off. I never had this problem with 2f.

Goex 3F wouldn't have caused the problems you described...would have worked just like 2F only faster...there was something else going on

I agree. 3f may be more prone to soaking up any moisture in the bore than 2f. All I shoot is 3f in all of my .50 and .54's.

Something is wrong! 3f or P always lights off better than 2f or RS, or should. 2f may be more accurate, especially using heavier loads in some guns, but the 3f should always be easier to get to go off.

I was reading another post with thick cleaning patches and I was using thicker patches, mabe more moisture getting into the patent breach. I have to whet swab between shots because I tryied dry and stuck my rod a coupala times" not fun". I will have to try Zonie's method of damp patch leave at the bottom a second or three and pull up to catch the crud ring. Thanks guys for helping me out with my problem. Regards F.K. :hatsoff:
