Anyone here tried .40 caliber pistol molds in the 48" twist Green Mountain barrels?

I have; several different styles and weights, they just shot OK, not great with about a 4" group at 50 yards. That said I have a now deceased friend that had the same GM .40 barrel on his gun as I have, he consistently shot tight cloverleafs at 50 yards with the same pistol bullets that I tried.
His pistol bullets weighed 170 gr, the same as .50 ball, he killed pile of deer with these bullets out of his gun.
Although I haven't shot these in about 5 or 6 years, I still have one on my desk, this is what my friend had such great luck with.
