Andrew Fautheree was a noted builder from California in the 1960s and 1970’s, featured in Muzzle Blasts. This re-creation of a S Hawken has a Bill Large .45 barrel, slant hooked breech, double set triggers that only fire when set, and a case-hardened lock which uses a coil spring. It was made in 1968 but has been very lightly used. Fit and finish and shaping are professional grade. The barrel is 36” long and the gun weighs 10.4 pounds, right in the range for S. Hawken rifles. This is an excellent light bench gun, and for me, good for offhand target shooting. Functions flawlessly. I am asking $700 shipped. If it was .54 and weighed 9 pounds I’d ask $1000.
