Hey guys where is the best place to order the .45 T/C maxi-ball for my T/C Cherokee.

been a long time since I bought any.

Track Of The Wolf has them. Just checked. And Dixie Gun Works has them also.

I suggest you try some hollow based mini's. I have far better results with them than with the maxi's.

.45 maxiballs are wickedly accurate out of my Seneca and Hawken. I havent tried them in my Cherokee .45 yet. They are so much better than my roundballs that I think I may be deforming my rbs with the short starter when loading.

what’s your load specs?

I was using 30 gr of 3F in my TC Hawken and just smearing some TC bore butter in the grooves of the maxi. I use 20-30 gr of 3F in my Seneca. I was target shooting at 25 and 50 yds. I havent worked up a hunting load for longer ranges.

Could you elaborate on this, I am not familiar with these
Lyman makes a mold for them. The hollow based mini's were used in the civil war. I bought 100 of them to try about forty years ago from Dixie. I shot many deer out to 120 yards with them. ( I would not try that long of a shot today with my eyes. My wood pile made a great bench rest and the deer had a trail along the pasture fence so I had a clear shot across the pasture). I made a mold for them since Dixie no longer carries them. I shoot them lubed with bees wax and lard with 65 grain FF and an over powder leather wad.
