pics of what's on the book. The book goes into greater detail about precision shooting with muzzleloaders. They measured groups differently in those times, but a tight group is a tight group, regardless.

So, a 40 shot 2-3/4” group at 220 yards? Roughly… pretty good shooting! 😎
I'm sure they used, at least, an aperture sight. The book tells of many more shoots, in the mountains, with Sgt York and his brother being very active with muzzleloaders into the 1930s. It goes into detail as to sights allowed.
